The heritage rose garden in the Christchurch Botanic gardens features rose varieties that have been around since before 1867. It’s a simply stunning place to be with these beautiful old roses.

I visited this garden about 2 weeks ago and have been meaning to share the photos – except I took so many so it’s tough to decide what to put up, so I’m publishing most of them! You can learn more about old roses at http://www.heritageroses.org.nz/

To maintain colour throughout the summer there are a lot of other beautiful flowers planted a well. I was particularly impressed with the sweet pea,

I would be inclined to take plenty of pics too in such a place!
