This section of the cycleway is now finished and officially opens on Friday. It’s a lot of fun riding down the middle of these trees and it will be stunning in Spring with the daffodils.
The cycleway currently ends at Dyers Road but it will eventually meet up with the coastal pathway.

It’s a good thing that new cycle ways are being made, hopefully will keep the cyclists alot safer.

I know I certainly feel much safer on the cycle way, and am happier to venture a bit further even if I have small bits on the main road – at least I can get a break from the traffic.

Do you know when they will do the rest of the cycle way down to meet the coastal pathway?

The best resource I could find was this page on the CCC website – https://www.ccc.govt.nz/transport/cycling/major-cycle-routes/cycle-routes/rapanui-shag-rock-cycleway
