For a few months now I’ve been following the Facebook page ‘has anybody seen Chase?‘ – which follows the exploits of Chase, a young city-dwelling black cat who lives not far from Victoria Square. He’s become a celebrity with lots of people aware of who he is now – which is a good thing as he was getting ‘rescued’ a lot – ending up at vet clinics around Christchurch. He now wears a collar and there have been signs put up explaining he’s not lost. We spotted him as we were walking down Oxford Terrace right by the river. I watched out for him as he crossed Armagh Street and went into Victoria Square. This was probably my 3rd or 4th attempt to actually seem him, so I was having to keep my enthusiasm abated so as not to spook him. He actually came to me when I called him – so he’s more obedient than my own little black cat! He end up with some head scratchies which he was rather appreciative of.
