A daily photo from Ōtautahi, Christchurch, New Zealand
I noticed the new library building had a design added to the section facing Colombo Street. Despite searching online I have not been able to find any information on what it means or depicts. Kind of looks like a spine to me.
It kind of reminds me of a stylised fire-breathing dragon. Lately I’ve been keeping up the latest news about Kilauea volcano in the Big Island of Hawaii ever since the latest eruptions began on May 3rd and this immediately made me to imagine a very angry dragon under the summit fighting the break free, but I also think I’ve been watching too much news from there lately… so I may be just a bit (understatement) overly biased as to what this newly added design really means… scary stuff!
