A daily photo from Ōtautahi, Christchurch, New Zealand
A very smokey Port Hills at about 3.30pm today (taken near the roundabout at that goes onto Tunnel Road).
We woke up to the smell of smoke – which hung around most of the day, but a wind change cleared it out for us. A state of emergency has been declared and parts of some hill suburbs have been evacuated. Let’s hope we get some rain.
Very ominous.
