
This sculpture is called ‘Quasi’ and is by artist Ronnie van Hout. It’s situated on the roof of the Christchurch Art Gallery and is 5 metres tall. It’s a temporary installation – remaining there until the end of next year apparently.

Great shot! The second picture is even more dramatic. I would love to come see it in person.

‘Quasi’ is quite an interesting sculpture indeed. I suspect Ronnie may have at one time considered placing the face on the other side of the hand but I suspect this would have been way too much fun!
