Sunset over Sumner Beach with silhouettes of mountains and trees reflected in the water.

Sumner Beach is a wonderful spot any-time of the day, but for photography it excels in the evening. I always like to shot into the sun and then turn around and shot out of it – for two very different photos.

A tranquil beach scene at sunset with soft waves lapping at the shore, reflecting the pastel sky and a distant cliff on the right.

Silhouette of a person walking along Sumner Beach during sunset with the sun setting over the horizon, casting a warm glow on the water and sand.
A serene beach scene at dusk with a glowing moon in the sky, soft pastel colors on the horizon, and gentle waves reflecting the colors of the sky.

Great captures Michelle! Beautiful indeed. You were most definitely in the zone! As for my best captures along the coast it’s always been the sunrise pics which were my faves, but then again I’m always up before the crack of dawn when everything is so peaceful and quiet — just something about being one of the few up at such hours which makes it so special to me, and enjoying a nice warm cup of coffee too 🙂
