I was driving home this afternoon when I did a double-take and realised there was a car in the Heathcote River. No one in it thankfully – the accident happened last night. It’s not unusual for speeding drivers to misjudge the slight bend and take out the fence by the river – but this is the first time I’ve seen one land in the river.
According to The Press article, the driver has been charged with drink driving. I’d say she’s been very lucky to walk away from this accident.

This is one driver who did not reckon with being given a little too much drink. Remarkable escape from this.

Lucky in one respect, but criminal charges, not to mention that car’s pretty much ruined.

It was there for days, which made me wonder if there was no insurance cover for retrieving it. Actually I’m not even sure if it’s still there, must go have a look!
