A lovely spring day today (though the easterly wind was trying its best to make it less lovely). It seemed to me that almost everyone was out in boats or punts on the Avon River. Such a pleasant way to spend an afternoon. Of-course, it’s at its most loveliest in the spring with the blossom and the daffodils.

Interesting these boaters and punters follow the same rules as the NZ highways — traffic to the left. Looks like a great spring day for getting outside and enjoying the weather and scenery after this past winter’s cabin fever too.

I hadn’t noticed, but I’m guessing that’s what most people would instinctively do! So guess I’d get in trouble kayaking in the USA 🙂

I would so love a ride in a colourful punt like this one. The guy standing almost looks like a gondolier.

Very similar to a Gondolier – but in the English tradition of punting. The company that started this business also has one in Melbourne in the gardens there.
