The Queen Victoria Jubilee Clock Tower is now fully restored and showing the actual time – it had been frozen in time for the last few years due to our earthquakes. The clock stopped at the time the earthquake started (or there about) – so it was a strange reminder for everyone driving down Victoria Street all these years. Great to see it looking so good.

Looking really sharp, and I see they repaired the finial too.

Must feel strange to see the clock going again after so many years frozen in time as a constant reminder, and now to see it alive and moving again. The repairs may have been a small act of mankind, but the sight of it’s renewed movement must be a huge emotional leap ahead for those who see it often.
