Magnolia Tree

DSC07076

Magnolia tree in Avonside. This blog comes to you from Melbourne (tricky huh!). I’m away having a wee holiday in Australia, but have prepared a few photos in advance.

I thought today was the 7th anniversary of my blog but it was actually yesterday – so seven years ago I started this blog. I knew doing a daily blog would be ambitious and I certainly have not been overly strict at times but still, seven years is not too bad even if I miss a few days here and there!

Congratulations are in order for those seven years indeed!

Michelle, you’ve got just the right balance with photos very well done and just enough written material that Google can fill in the rest for those who may want to explore outside the lines.

Enjoy your wee holiday in Melbourne! – (and if you get the chance, check out all those evil clowns at Luna Park and the adventures in architecture at the Melbourne CBD too) – but above all, do enjoy your holiday however you choose!

As always, I love seeing all the wonderful photos of the places you visit in Christchurch (and keeping us up to date too), and throughout all of Canterbury on your occasional excursions beyond the city as well.

In your photo above, behind this Magnolia tree in Avonside, I noticed there’s quite a healthy looking Cabbage Tree back there too. If only I could have a Cabbage Tree growing in my yard it would be an absolute treasure as the big arboretum near where I live which has plants and trees from all over the world — yet they don’t have a single Cabbage Tree!
