I travelled back to Christchurch today and decided to finally take a photo of this Christchurch sign. It’s fairly understated… but after a long 6 hour drive I am always relieved to see it as it means I’m home again!

This post was interesting, because I think we all have something that signals to us we are home from our travels – a landmark, feature or building etc. For me it’s a TV mast that sits high on the local hills, and can be seen from quite a distance before I am actually ‘home’. For one of my friends it is a mainline London railway station from which he knows it is only a short journey home into the city.
