I went to Centennial Park today to find the monarchs that winter over there. They are in one of the very large blue gums right by the path on the north west side of the park (opposite Pioneer). It was getting pretty late in the day when I took these photos, so got very late Autumn sun on the monarchs and they were making the most of it.

    I’ve seen photos of Monarchs wintering over in Mexico but those migrate over land to get there. Just curious where these Monarchs come from to winter over at Christchurch as there’s a lot of ocean surrounding NZ!

    By the way, I love these last two photos of the day with all those Monarchs! 🙂
