Most years I go along to the Chinese Lantern Festival. It used to be in Victoria Square but of course that’s not an ideal location now considering it borders the red-zone of the city. Plus, I think the lantern festival has outgrown the square and is much better suited to Hagley Park. It’s such a well attended event with tasty food, excellent performers and then the most wonderful lantern displays. I got there about 6.30pm while it was still light and left quite late when it was getting pretty hard to see where you were walking, let alone taking a photo!

So, here are a few of my favourite photos from this evening.
