It’s been a few months since I’ve been down the New Brighton Mall (and it’s alleyways). What a difference! Back in November 2012, local artists were called upon to paint artworks on empty walls as part of Mural Madness – here’s some of the photos I snapped today of some of my favourites.

New Brighton is a seaside suburb of Christchurch and it was hit pretty badly by the earthquakes. But even before the quakes the area was quite depressed – with the retail district inundated with 2 dollar shops. A plan for re-developing New Brighton has just been released by the City Council.
