This morning I attended the dawn service for Anzac Day that was held in Cranmer Square. It was a very moving service and made me think about one of my grandfathers who fought in World War One. He was a motorcycle courier I believe – probably a very dangerous thing to do.  He came home though, unlike so many other young men. The service was very well attended.

    I am always reminded of the poem In Flanders Fields when I see these poppies. A very moving post!

    I really enjoyed seeing your photo’s from the dawn service. I am the Corporal in the second photo commanding the firing party. Could I please see about getting copies of the firing party photo’s?
