I’m currently in the wonderful and scenic Tekapo which is in the Mackenzie Country which is about 2.5 hours away from Christchurch and not very far away from Mt Cook.

Today we drove to Mt Cook Village and did the Hooker Valley walk so we could get a close up view of Mt Cook (New Zealand’s highest peak) and also the Hooker glacier terminal. It was a hot day and lots of people were on the track. Stunning views in all directions and worth the walk in, which in places is not a board walk like pictured – but rocks or gravel that is a bit sore on the poor old feet after a while!

Breathtaking views! I imagine the air would still be exhilerating even on a hot day!
