Birdlings Flat is a beach about 45 minutes away from Christchurch. The beach is pretty boring to photograph, so I tried photographing the strip of water beside the beach. We had a fairly dull morning with poor light. Still, it is as desolate as it looks! But always a challenge to photograph…

    Yep I think you captured it well. The place does intrigue me though, I guess I like the desolated look, perhaps why I enjoy the Port hills vista on a dry summers day …

    Jas, I love the Port Hills for the same reason – especially when they go really brown in the Summer.

    Birdlings flat beach is spectacular..one of the greatest beaches in the world to photograph!!I find your photography really BORING!!

      Fair comment, I was there for an hour on a miserable morning. Still I do find the beach depressing. Each to his own though.
