The Baptist Church on Madras Street.

Here’s information about the church from their website: – it does indeed stand out in Christchurch as being very different from our other old buildings (yes 1880’s is old in NZ!).

The present church sanctuary was built in 1881.  Its classical design is notable in a city dominated by Gothic architecture.  It is listed as a Category 1 building under the New Zealand Historical Places Register.
