red-rose

Though I do love to take photos of flowers in general, I have stayed away from photographing roses. I guess it’s because they are too obviously pretty and to me a little boring. But I can honestly say that I love this rose picture.  I took it around 3.30pm this afternoon in the Christchurch Botanic Gardens rose garden. Now this is a simply stunning place to be on a beautiful day, and today was certainly one of those. I’m liking the late afternoon light we are now getting that it is Autumn (fall).

Was this in the wild or in some sort of greenhouse? Another creature we do not have here in Yorkshire.

It was very much a cultivated rose in a bed of roses at the Botanic Gardens. A truly fabulous place to be in Summer and Autumn.

The fond richnesses and beauty of her aromas this magnificant “Queen” flower~the Rose….lovely, red beauty silk, and a lingering lustrious smell of her sensous beauty besides….the rose is….was, and always will be..

pretty photo too up top…… But, try the Santa Claus Rose of Red…. or even better yet for full abundance in the captioning her beauty the “Lincoln Red Rose” would be a good start……….next time of course!
