Beautiful photo. Looks like this seat was built to last.

Hey hi, Christchurch is such a beautiful place. I chanced upon your blog from Eric’s Paris site. And that stone chair, it looks so lonely by the sea!
Is Christchurch a crowded place?
Have you visited The Strange Republic? If you like it, recommend it to your friends!

Taylor’s Mistake is an odd name for a beach. I wonder how that happened? Nice bench. Nobody can carry that off.

I found a webcam of Taylor’s Mistake beach at http://www.taylorssurf.co.nz/ – according to this site the beach got its name as “Captain Taylor sailed into the bay by mistake in 1858. His intended destination was Lyttelton Harbour next door”.
Photolicious – Christchurch has over 300,000 people, but it’s not at all crowded. In fact when I am out taking my photos I sometimes wonder where everyone is!
As for the bench seat, I think it’s a memorial seat dedicated to a couple and their dog – as there is a plaque with a dog on it. It’s a really popular walking track and if you check out the webcam you’ll see the area is really stunning, and the little baches (holiday homes) are very cute. I may go back there this weekend and take some shots of the baches and surfers.
