A daily photo from Ōtautahi, Christchurch, New Zealand
There only a few of these phone boxes left and I believe we have the Wizard to thank for them. I didn’t live in Christchurch back in 1988 but that was the year of the “Telephone Box War’ when the Wizard stood up to Telecom who were painting all of the phone boxes blue (this is a typically stupid telco thing to do). Personally, I think it would be great if the city had a few more red phone boxes in the CBD!
That’s great. So much nicer than ours. I love the little roof, and we don’t often see a sky like that here in London!

The little roof is cute! Very quaint. You can see why people think Christchurch is “English” though I’ve had a few English people tell that it’s 1950’s England 🙂
