I know several kendoka (Kendo practictioners), but this was the first time I had watched competitions. The rounds were three minutes long and quite intense! Continue reading →: Rapaki JettyIf you drive over the Port Hills down into Governor’s Bay and then drive towards Lyttelton, you will come across the small settlement of Rapaki which has a Marae, a small church, a very nice bay, and the jetty. It’s a very pleasant spot.

Continue reading →: A few more sheep photos!Snapped on a rainy day on the Rapaki Track. That’s a rather impressive amount of fleece on this sheep. I also have to wonder if it’s about to drop some lambs? If so, it would be a bit late in the season.
