I spotted this dinosaur sculpture (which has a passing resemblance to Dino from the Flintstones) in a paddock in the Horotane Valley (which is off Heathcote valley). I had no idea it was there and it certainly made me smile.

This is a building in Merivale that lost its façade due to the earthquake (which was three months ago today). Everything is still in there as it’s too dangerous to go in.

The clock tower on Victoria Street. Stopped at 12.50pm (time of the big earthquake). It’s been through a lot, but it was clearly made to last – it’s been through thousands of earthquakes and it’s still looking good. Though, the pointy bit at the top is looking a little bent…

I went into the CBD today – specifically the Victoria Street area. I watched with a few others the demolition of the building on the corner of Peterborough and Victoria (it was the Strategy building). Walking around this area of town is really weird – some shops have opened again…
