There are dinosaurs lurking in this garden! It’s located on the corner of Fitzgerald Avenue and Avonside Drive.

Spotted this mailbox on one of my walks around Mt Pleasant. It certainly caught my attention and is worthy of a pun!

I was struck today by the lack of a building where the crane is in this photo. I knew the building was being demolished, but as you can see, it’s completely gone and there is a new view of the port hills just past the Heritage Hotel. That’s what happens…

This Rebuild Zone sign is on Avonside Drive near Fitzgerald Avenue. I seem to recall reading that the signs have been put up by SCIRT (the organisation that is fixing the infrastructure of Christchurch). The rebuild is gaining momentum at the moment with various streets closing to repair underground infrastructure.…

I’ve come to think of this rather sad looking Cabbage Tree as the Chicken Tree as it kind of looks like a chicken or a rooster. It’s in Ferrymead Park just opposite the entrance to the Ferrymead Heritage Village.

Rangatira Terrace near St Andrews Hill Road has had quite a bit of work done on it to secure the rock-face and rebuild the road. It’s rather a steep road as you can see from the picture on the right.
