A friend of mine was clever enough to book a tour of the Christ Church Cathedral to see the stage it’s currently in and was kind enough to share their photos with me. The rebuild of the cathedral was put on hold due to a lack of funding. That has since been resolved and it’s estimated the cathedral will reopen in stages, commencing with a stage one 2030 re-opening as per below:

“The first stage will see the nave and tower areas reinstated, along with the western wall (including the Rose Window).  This will create a Cathedral with seating for 700 people.  It was these areas that first opened to the public when the Cathedral was originally built in 1881.” Christ Church Cathedral Rebuild | Reinstatement Project
