Another great Christchurch event with local performers and the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra. The fireworks were stunning and I felt like I was right under them.

I had no idea they still did this. We used to go as a family and mum would bring picnic, and her picnics were really something. Do they still end with the 1812, I still love that, it’s in my music favourites.

I think it’s been going over 30 years. For some reason they dropped the 1812 Overture a few years back (which is a pity I think). The video is of the last few minutes of the event, and you can hear the music playing. Would love them to bring back the overture one year, it was certainly impressive.
