It is estimated that twenty thousand people came to Hagley Park today to support the Muslim community as they prayed together. Two minutes of silence was observed, followed by speeches. A week on from the attacks on Christchurch’s Mosques, it still feels surreal that this happened here. The people of Christchurch have shown their love and support which gives me hope for our collective future.
