Spencerville Beach is just a short 20-minute drive from the centre of Christchurch – but it feels a lot further away. It has a popular camping ground nearby and I was really impressed with the Surf Lifesaving building – it looks brand new.

Lots of horses around this area

I had beach envy when I saw the shade some people bring with them to the beach.

Love the Spencerville Beach photos – I can almost smell the salt spray!
I wonder if it’s legal to setup a gelato stand (food truck) at or near the beach as an additional way to help beat the heat too?

There’s a popular Gelato truck that drives around Christchurch – not sure what the rules are, but I’m sure they’d have done a roaring trade!
