A daily photo from Ōtautahi, Christchurch, New Zealand
I was off to photograph something else at lunchtime today, but got sidetracked when I saw the White Heron on the water race on Linwood Avenue. I ended up falling in a deep trench while taking these photos (don’t worry it was a soft landing), but it was probably much to the amusement of people driving past!
It’s quite remarkable that such a rare bird is happy to hang out so close to a residential area and right by a busy road. I guess the fishing must be really good!
Well, as long as you’re not too hurt! Terrific captures!
