This little garden is on Colombo street near Tuam Street. It features a beautiful chair and ottoman that are made out of china that was broken during our earthquakes. The china was donated by Christchurch people and turned into this wonderful artwork. The groups behind it are Greening the Rubble and Crack’d For Christchurch. The mosaic is beautiful and the family stories about the china are very touching.

The plants used in this garden are from the residential red zone.

That’s quite a work of art as I’m still trying to imagine what it would take to inventory all these pieces and then design layouts to cover such irregular surfaces, and then to produce such a wonderful masterpiece of mosaic art. That most definitely takes more than a bit of talent. My hat goes off to the artist(s?) involved who produced this!
