Some very cute and well done sheep art has appeared in Latimer Square. I’ve not idea who is behind it or when they were put up. But I love them! Very cheerful and the spring flowers in front of them are a nice touch too. That’s one cool thing about Christchurch – lots of interesting things like this just turn up.

Wouldn’t that be something! Imagine, Christchurch over-run with woolly sheep art.

With the upcoming elections cranking up into full gear, I’m picturing wooly sheep art going on a tangent away from the dirty politics of late and turning towards the lighter side with wooly sheep art political satire installations along the full length of Ferry Road. At the far ends there could be blue wooly sheep at each end holding up ‘Vote National’ signs, and then every 100 metres or so farther (and closing in on Woolston) there could be other sheep, such as green wooly sheep holding up ‘Vote Greens’ signs, only to be followed by other wooly (red and yellow) sheep holding up signs saying ‘Those last sheep you saw were lost – Vote Labour’ … and then after a series of other humourous wooly sheep art installations bantering back and forth and finally at about the mid-point along Ferry Road at Woolston there’s this absolutely huge wooly black sheep wearing a tiny red sheep bell and big dark sun glasses holding up a sign saying ‘Vote Internet-Mana’ — sure to gain plenty of notoriety and possibly some media attention as well, all in the name of good humour, and with only one stipulation — Miss Bo Peep can’t be the only one responsible for all those sheep as plenty of spare sheep will need to be made available as fill-ins to take the places of those that might go missing!

Of course on the fun side of things, these sheep could all be geo-tagged so in case any do go missing they can be tracked and mapped for a later posting on a website, possibly Miss Bo Peep’s, as part of a post election satire, but first we’ll need to find Miss Bo Peep so the big yarn ball can get rolling…

So I was a bit long-winded here.. but all in the name of fun! 🙂
