It was a beautiful day today – we got to a high of 21 degrees which is not bad for a few weeks out from winter. I ended up going for a long walk along what is called the Tow Path – a track that starts in Ferrymead and follows the Heathcote river running parallel to Ferry Road. I stopped to investigate this tree, I’m thinking it’s some kind of wattle but I’m not sure.

    That’s indeed a Mimosa wattle tree as I recognised the leaves which were definitely of the Mimosa species. Never seen these where I live but we do have an abundance of bicolour Mimosa trees that have the same leaf structure – just the colours of the flowers are different.
