I discovered these wonderful egg artworks around the central city today (there are some in the Botanic Gardens as well). Each one is by a different artist. They are part of an ‘egg hunt’ – find the egg and then text your name and the name on the egg to a number and you are in the draw to win a gold bar. Very cool!

The egg hunt has been organised by Whittaker’s Chocolate and there are 100 eggs Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. The egg hunt is to raise funds for the Starship Foundation – which supports the national Children’s hospital. See www.thebigegghunt.co.nz for more information.

Yes, I really like Julia’s egg too – I’m tempting to bid on it, but guess it will go way out of my price range!

Awesome looking eggs, but beyond the first egg photo I can’t help but to notice how beautiful the Chalice looks against the blue sky!
