A fantail in my garden

Most days I have a fantail flitting about in the trees in front of my office. Today I finally got some decent photos. It’s quite a challenge to capture these amazingly little birds as they are so fast and never stay in one place for too long. This one kept flying right over to me – making my long lens useless! Next time, I think I will try using a faster and smaller lens. At one point I thought the fantail was going to land on me! I always hear the fantail before seeing it – as they make a very distinctive cheep cheep sound – in fact you can see in two of the photos I’ve captured it part cheep!
