I spotted this beautiful monarch while on a photo walk around the Botanic Gardens. I went to the gardens to photograph the hydrangeas and just opposite the hydrangea section was this lilly plant which caught my eye. Imagine my surprise when I then realised there was a monarch flying about and landing on the lilly. I thought wow, that’s a great colour matching combination!

The hydrangeas are looking spectacular at the moment – I highly recommend a walk around the gardens right now just to view them. That’s of course if you like hydrangeas, as I’ve discovered some people just simply can not abide by them at all. I however, thing they are beautiful.
