Kingfisher on my Deck

This morning a Kingfisher sat on the railings of our deck. It’s the closest I’ve ever seen a Kingfisher come to the house. They normally perch up in the large blue gums that are near the house, but never on the fence. They spook easily, so I took this photo through our window.

The Kingfisher has an interesting call, it sounds like “keek keek keek’ which it repeats over and over again. This Kingfisher was listening intently to another Kingfisher down the hill a bit. Wonder what it was thinking. Probably something like ‘I fancy fish for lunch’.
