I took these photos of inside the Heritage Hotel during a tour of the hotel as part of the heritage reconnect weekend. The hotel was built very solidly and had some substantial earthquake restrengthening done to it before our major earthquakes, so it came through the last few years very well. Though it did need some work done on it, and it has been behind the red zone. So it only opened to the public again in August of this year. The hotel also has a restaurant, a gym and a swimming pool. It has a beautiful grand feel to it with wide corridors and high heavy doors.

Inside one of the rooms – very nice.

I think there was once a safe behind this… it says thief resisting.

And the outside – love the red bricks and the large columns.
