Open Streets

DSC02040

Today, several of our inner-city streets were closed to cars so that people could walk and bicycle freely around the city. Despite the iffy weather (grey clouds and the chance of rain) people came out with their bikes of all types and there was a parade with Frocks on Bikes and the Bicycle Band.

Cool pictures and great original ideas! Christchurch most certainly has its lion’s share of activities, film, music and arts festivals, and with many being international too.

Here in North Carolina we just finished having our very first international “Wide Open Bluegrass Festival” in Raleigh where a number of streets were closed to cars. Huge success!
