A rather stunning blossom tree on Opawa Road near Port Hills Road. I’ve driven past it a few times and admired it, so I finally went and took a photo of it today.

So, this is an early blossom, and I am looking forward to more blossom trees bursting into flower over the coming months. I think it’s wonderful how they flower all through the spring (well it is of course still winter). I never get sick of photographing them and intend to capture plenty of them this spring.

You and I must think quite alike when those first blossom trees start flowering, as I too love the sight of lavender to purple blossom trees as they really brighten up the landscape, especially if you can find any where there’s tender blades of spring green grass filling the backgrounds. Often these kinds of backgrounds are difficult at best to find, but when you do find one, the contrasting colours really do jump off the page!

Love the middle photo with the port hills in the background.
