A daily photo from Ōtautahi, Christchurch, New Zealand
I spotted this white heron on the Linwood Canal today (not far from the estuary in Ferrymead). It is apparently one of two who are visiting. These beautiful birds are called Kotuku in New Zealand and are very rare here. It’s estimated there are only 120 Kotuku in New Zealand.
