This is the corner of Hereford Street and Madras Street, and is the site for what is going to be the Cardboard Cathedral. It’s wonderful to see buildings going up rather than being pulled down.
The Cathedral will be a transitional building as it is hoped that a Cathedral will be re-built in Cathedral Square – but there is rather a lot of controversy over re-construction versus a total new build (some groups believe the existing Cathedral can be saved). Despite all that, I choose to focus on the positive – a new wonderful building will be developed that will be innovative, visually engaging, a landmark and a tourist attraction. And, another wonderful photographic subject for me and all of the other keen photographers out there.
