Pretty in pink. I went up the Cashmere Hill this afternoon to find some street art to photograph. I ended up at the Sign of the Takahe and went for a walk to the lookout. These pink flowers drew me in and became my subject of choice for today. It’s funny how that happens, often what I set out to photograph gets discarded for a totally unexpected vista. Unashamedly pink and pretty too.

The fluffy pink flowers are false valerian AFAIK, there is oodles of it as you drive to Lyttleton tunnel on the hillsides and by the roundabout on the other side. There is a darker pink and a white but they are less common.

Just found your blog, nice to meet another local photog 🙂
