Everything is very green at the moment – ‘Spring Green’ – that few weeks where the leaves have just come back onto the trees is so magical.

Wow, right on time! You must have been reading my mind or it’s a remarkable coincidence as just yesterday there was an article in my local paper (and online too) about a much needed upgrade to a rather drab northern corridor leading in my current hometown city (Raleigh, NC, USA) that has been in much need of an upgrade for years, and a creek that looks more like an ugly trench following much of this northern corridor is currently part of the future upgrade plan. I made mention in a post to that article for people to Google for images of the Avon River at Christchurch to get an idea of what that area *could* potentially look like. And today I come here to see your latest and what do I find? Amazing! And beautiful as always too! 🙂

Just curious if you’ve been to ‘Luxcity’ with your camera too?

Hi Robert, the Avon certainly is a great example of a beautiful river, and it’s only going to get better, as the Avon is going to feature even more in our re-build. Unfortunately I missed Luxity as I was away from Christchurch for the weekend. I read it was very popular and the street was crammed with people. I also missed the first ever Spring Festival on the Avon River http://www.stuff.co.nz/the-press/news/7844640/River-festival-pretty-spectacular. Morale of the story – if you leave Chch for just a weekend you miss a lot!

Thanks for the link, Michelle. From there I found my way over to the 2012 Spring River Festival website after checking out the kite flying at New Brighton Pier (I had to Google that as I love flying kites), and you’re not kidding about a lot happening in just a weekend between the Spring River Festival and Luxcity! Over here we’re lucky if we have even half that much going on in an entire year — no, make that two years!
