This is the beautiful carved red Steinway piano at the Michael Parekowhai exhibition (On First Looking into Chapman’s Homer) at NG on Madras Street. People are very drawn to the piano.

It’s a wonderful space for an exhibition and the views out of the windows are rather surreal as they look out to the red zone that was our CBD.

The bronze bulls also attract a lot of attention. The setting for the bulls is quite a backdrop.

At various times during next week there will be pianists playing the piano, so definitely well worth a visit down to Madras Street for a look. For performance times you can check with the Christchurch Art Gallery’s Facebook page.

Not surprised they are drawn to the piano, as pianos go it is a stunner.
