Memorial Avenue at about 11.30am today – not a great deal of traffic (though I did wait for the lights to cycle). Someone once mentioned to me that a visitor they picked up from the airport could not believe this was the road that took you from the airport to the city. They remarked that it was probably one of the nicest airport to city rides they’d ever been on. And even in winter you can see that it is still a pretty tree-lined road (though at the moment the Hagley Park end of it is a dodgem course of road cones and ever switching in-different-direction lanes).
