   It’s so unreal to see how almost unrecognisable the CBD has become with the continuing demolitions. If the Farmers Carpark is deemed fit to be saved, they may need to repurpose it as there will be an abundance of extra parking available for some time to come, but with slanted floors and a drive-through all the way to the top, I’m thinking storage may be about the only good option if repurposed as it does provide a huge amount of available space.

   And as for the cathedral… so depressing. If they still plan to deconstruct it down to a few meters from ground level perhaps they should consider constructing a beautifully lit memorial fountain within what’s left of its exterior walls (in the shape of a cross) as a symbol of hope for the future while still remembering the past.

   Just a couple of thoughts…

   (Although there appears to be few comments, there are surely plenty looking as you provide a unique view seen nowhere else. Don’t change a thing — keep those photos coming – the happy ones, the sad ones, the random ones, the ‘different’ ones, etc.)

   My neighbour’s daughter was over from Christchurch last week and I was shocked to learn it was the whole of the cathedral that was being demolished, I’d thought it was just the tower – anyhow she was very upbeat about things.
