Someone with a sense of humour has made and pinned this award to the fence that blocks off Kilmore Street – at the site of the now demolished Crown Plaza Hotel.
You can now see the Town Hall to the left and behind the Crowne Plaza rubble.
It is sad to see any building in that sort of state. But from a positive point of view change is just around the corner. It will be replaced by something better than one can imagine. Before long no-one will be talking about the Crowne plaza or the Copthorne. It will be of the spacious parks, lovely native trees and modern architecture. Kia Kaha fellow Canterburians.
