On my walk yesterday I decided to focus on nice things, so took lots of interesting photos of plants, flowers, red doors etc. And this lovely monarch – who was resting on the flower that was right beside the fence to someone’s house. It just sat there letting me snap away. There’s been a lot of monarchs around right now, and I never tire of seeing them fluttering on the wind, they are so beautiful and vibrant.

Hi Michelle. I look at your blog all the time as you are my closest neighbour on the Asia list on CDP(also pre quake). I look at your images and just don’t know what to say but today I agree there have been so many Monarchs around this year in OZ as well I did a post a fortnight ago on the same thing, you need beauty and vibrancy in your life right now but it is great to see things like power and water come back on. I know someone in Sumner and how terrible it all his./ Anyway neighbour I often think about you all in Christchurch and hope everyday is a little better.
