I went back to the Botanic Gardens yesterday, this time with my photo club. Our mission was to photograph a flower for an entry into a photo competition. I’m thinking of entering this one, though I have a few others to consider as well. It will come down to which one looks the best in print. This flower was in the hot house, and frustratingly I can’t remember what it’s called. The gardens are looking lovely right now, and well worth a walk through them.

Nice photo Michelle, very good macro. Sorry cannot help with name. All our flowers here are long gone, all we have left are flowers in florists.

Ah! I knew the name would come back to me, the flower is a Begonia.

I love this photo, begonias are lovely. Townend house is the conservatory with the begonias – there’s a blog post on it here http://cclblog.wordpress.com/?s=townend
